€200 NPPR Tax for 2010
The liability deadline for the NPPR €200 levy for 2010 is the end of March. The levy raised €62m in 2009. If you own a property on the 31st of March that is not your primary residence then you are liable to pay the €200 charge for 2010.
Payment of tbe levy is due by 31st May, however it is likely that a one month grace period will be allowed. This means that payments received by 30th June will not be subject to penalties. Failure to pay on time will leave the property owner liable for penalties of €20 a month or part of a month for every property on which the tax is outstanding
The levy is payable to the local authority of the area in which the property is situated. To pay the charge, you will have to provide the address of the property, declare that you are the owner and provide your PPS number. The charge can be paid on-line at NPPR.ie
